This week we dive back into our “Why the Church” series, picking up in week 5 where the focus is on obedient generosity. We desire that through this series, as you attend Rich Fork, you will know our expectations as leaders and our hopes for each of you as members of this church. These are not traits that are only for Rich Fork, but traits that should be a part of every gathering of believers, not because we are mandating it to others, but because scripture, God’s word, and instruction have given us examples of these traits, characteristics, to have in common: Biblical Preaching, Evangelism & Discipleship, Prayer, and this week Obedient Generosity. This week’s message is not to guilt anyone into giving to Rich Fork, but rather to help us all to realize that all of our gifts, abilities, and resources are gifts from God. We are merely stewards of these things; God is the owner. Rich Fork Baptist Church is dedicated to obedient generosity because all good things are from God, and everything exists for His glory. As we will see, obedient generosity is about grace, not guilt.
