Why the Church Week 4
• Series: Why the Church?
For three weeks now, we have examined the question, “Why the Church?” As we talk about church, we are not simply talking about a structure that exists at 3993 Old Hwy. 29, in Thomasville, NC, but rather THE CHURCH, the Bride of Jesus Christ. The gathering and the assembly of those who claim to be followers of Jesus Christ, meeting together, growing in community together, and leading others to a relationship with Jesus Christ. As we walk through this series we are looking at specific traits that are paramount to a church being and remaining a Gospel-centered church in the midst of a culture that seems to be moving further and further away from the church and biblical truths as a whole. Evangelism and Discipleship should lead to disciples who make disciples. In this fourth week, our focus will be on the trait of Prayer. Prayer is an aspect and trait that can be increased in almost every church, by every follower of Jesus, by every teacher, Deacon, Elder, and volunteer. Jesus was intentional about regular prayer and as we will see this week, Scripture makes it clear that God desires His people to be people of praye
