Armor of God Week 7: Perfectly Suited. Purposefully Fighting.

â€¢ Series: The Armor of God: Perfectly Suited. Purposefully Fighting.

During our study of Ephesians 6:10-20 we have learned some vital truths. We have learned that we have an enemy, the devil, and that his tactics are many. We have also learned the qualities, characteristics, and armor that we possess as followers of Jesus: Belt of Truth: Satan is a liar, but the Christian who knows the truth, the Gospel of salvation, and our hope in Jesus Christ will not be deceived. Breastplate of Righteousness: We stand in our relationship with God, and he has set us right (righteous) by the grace of Jesus Christ, not our own works. Shoes for your feet: The shoes with readiness, given by the gospel of peace. Christians ready to witness or Christ have an easier time defeating the evil one. Shield of Faith: Satan is the source of unbelief and doubt. As believers, using the shield of faith extinguishes the fiery darts of unbelief and doubt from the enemy. Helmet of Salvation: Our salvation, our rescue from despair and death, is through surrendering our lives to Jesus Christ. Sword of the Spirit: The Rhema, the word of God, living and active in our lives. As we finish up this series, we will look at the final part of our armor, a part that is often skipped over even though it is strongly tied to the Shield of Faith, Helmet of Salvation, and Sword of the Spirit. This final piece is PRAYER.
