Week four of our examination of the armor takes us directly into the heart of the battle. Thus far, we have examined the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, and the shoes that prepare us to stand in the gospel of peace. All of these are attached to and given to us through a relationship with Jesus. Christ and this is also true of the next piece of armor that we will look at this week; the shield of faith. The shield protects the warrior, but it also shields his armor, allowing the warrior to continue in battle, to step in, to hold his ground, to be ready with a sword in hand, helmet on, belt on, breastplate attached, and tightly guarding the warrior.
