Every Member a Disciple Maker Week 6

 • Series: Every Member a Disciple Maker

Imagine you started with a “follow me, and I will make you fishers of men,” and you end with the command to GO. Go as you are going. Go because you have the authority. Go because you have the mission. Go because you have the teaching and training. Go because Jesus is with you. Go! Go and make disciples. Those of us who have surrendered to Jesus are called to do the same: go and make disciples. Our following Jesus leads us to GO and make disciples. This is our calling, our opportunity, and we have examined the need for urgency to this calling from Jesus. This is why we must view making disciples as a matter of life or death (Matthew 28:16- 20). As we aim to make disciples of Jesus, we must live our lives in ways that reflect, point, and draw people to Jesus Christ. What we believe must determine how we behave. As we surrender to Christ, we grow in worship, and as we grow in worship, we are being transformed by the renewing of our mind, which prepares us to make disciples as Jesus Christ commanded us (Romans 12:1-2). This week we will continue to dive into Romans 12 to understand that God’s grace equips us to make disciples using the gifts He has given each of us. There are a few things we need to understand about our giftedness as individuals and as a church collectively. As we work to make disciples as a church and grow in maturity, continuing to be transformed, we must not get ahead of ourselves or think too much of ourselves; it is called pride.
