I Surrender All - Book of James Week 1
• Series: I Surrender All - Book of James
This year will be filled with challenges, trials, and difficulties like any other. James, the half-brother of Jesus, does not even attempt to act as if we won’t face trials. Instead, he pretty much promises they are coming; you just don’t know when. These 108 verses contain 59 commands, and he addresses many practical issues: trials, temptation, poverty, riches, materialism, favoritism, social justice, our words and taming the tongue, boasting, making plans, prayer for the sick, and rejoicing, just to name a few of the topics. Our faith should impact every facet of our functioning, relationships, decisions, planning, or lack thereof. We want to invite you to take this journey with us as we allow God’s Word to penetrate the areas, actions, thoughts, practices, and relationships that often oppose our faith in Jesus Christ. Between now and February 4th of this year, we ask that you join us in diving into James, reading all 108 verses each day over the next several weeks, and allowing God’s Word to do what it does best; change our hearts and draw us closer to our Creator
