Paul gives the church of Corinth some strong warnings regarding one of the most sacred and important practices of the local church, the Lord’s Supper, communion. They had taken the sacred meal of remembrance and turned it into a buffet, filled with division, selfishness, and immorality. The church had stripped the meal, the Lord’s Supper of the meaning, the attitude of sacrifice, and the servanthood of Jesus.
