The church in 1 Corinthians is full of believers who are claiming Christ in their lives, yet fully living for the world. There are lawsuits among believers and sins of sexual immorality, idolatry, adultery, prostitution, homosexuality, thievery, greed, drunkenness, slander, and swindling. Paul calls them out sharply on this, challenging them to flee sin(especially sexual immorality), and reminds them that they are washed, sanctified, and justified in Christ; that their body is not their own so they should honor God with their bodies.
